AC/DC co-founder Malcolm Young will be remembered by friends and family during a funeral set for Nov. 28 at St. Mary's Cathedral in Sydney.

The 64-year-old Young died on Saturday after a battle with dementia and other health issues. His family, which Australia's News.com.au says has always shunned the spotlight, requested that the funeral remain private, so there will be no broadcast.

Still, a who's-who of well-known fans is expected to be on hand. Young's funeral is being held on the same day as the ARIA Awards, Australia's version of the Grammys. Jimmy Barnes, who collaborated with INXS in the late '80s, reportedly canceled a scheduled Tuesday book-signing event out of respect for the family.

Young died on Nov. 18, just weeks after the death of his older brother George, who played a key role in AC/DC's early years as a producer. Malcolm had been in a full-time nursing-care facility in Sydney since 2014.

"As his brother, it is hard to express in words what he has meant to me during my life," Angus Young said in a statement after Malcolm's death. "The bond we had was unique and very special. He leaves behind an enormous legacy that will live on forever."

Malcolm did not participate in the sessions for AC/DC's latest album, Rock or Bust, though he earned co-composing credits on every song. Stevie Young, the Youngs' nephew, replaced Malcolm on rhythm guitar for the Rock or Bust album and tour – just as he did in the late '80s, when Malcolm was battling issues with alcohol.
