Billboard gets the denial from unnamed “insiders.” There’s not even a direct quote from one of them, but the industry publication says, in no uncertain terms, “there’s no truth to the rumors.”

However, the band has officially announced a hiatus for Malcolm Young, confirming that the founding rhythm guitarist is “taking a break from the band due to ill health.” However, the group says they “will continue to make music.”
