More on the tour, but first, a happy birthday to Lita Ford, who was born on September 19, 1958 in London, England but raised in the L.A. area.

She's best known as the guitarist, vocalist, and songwriter, who was the lead guitarist for The Runaways in the late 1970s, but she's also of course well known for her solo work in the 80's.

It was Ritchie Blackmore's work that inspired her to pick up the guitar at the tender age of 11.

Her third solo album, Lita, released in 1988, included this one we all know, Close my Eyes Forever, a duet with Ozzy Osbourne:

According to litafordonline.com, she's in Vegas tonight for her 'Vamp'd' birthday bash and will appear at the Chiller Theatre Expo in Parsippany the weekend of October 24th to the 26th for a signing/appearance.

The song in the video above is about her heartache over her alienation from her children, which she explains in detail in an interview on loudwire.com.

Happy birthday to a cool rocker and true groundbreaker!
