Assemblyman Reed Gusciora, D-Mercer, introduced a bill that would permit hundreds of dispensaries across New Jersey and would allow people to grow a small number of plants at home.

The proposal wants each of the state's 40 legislative districts to have a minimum of 2 and a maximum of 10 dispensaries.

Beyond the professional dispensaries, home-growers would be able to grow up to six plants, with a maximum of three of those budding at any one time.

The issue of home-growing may actually be the most debatable. Opponents think it will be more dangerous, while supporters want the freedom to not have to pay a company for something they can grow themselves.

I think it's kind of odd for a bill to call for a minimum of dispensaries in a district...if a place really doesn't want it, why should the state force them to set one up?
