A Lakewood man is held on $100,000 bail, accused of having sex with a six-year-old girl.

Carl A. Creadle, 47, faces a second-degree charge of endangering the welfare of a child following an investigation by Lakewood police and the Ocean County Special Victims Unit, according to information from the office of county Prosecutor Joseph D. Coronato.

Officials said that Creadle and the alleged victim were acquainted. The arrest took place March 1, at 3:00 AM.

A witness living inside the youngster's home saw the incident and reported it to the parents, authorities said.

Creadle was placed in the Ocean County Jail in Toms River with no option for release on payment of 10 percent, and was ordered to avoid contact with the alleged victim under terms of Nicole's Law, authorities said.

Second-degree crimes are punishable on conviction by prison terms of five to 10 years.
