Steve Winwood, who clearly still has a great set of pipes, led the musical tribute to Carlos Santana at the Kennedy Center earlier this month, and the event was broadcast last night on CBS.

Carlos was one of five recipients of the prestigious Kennedy Center Honor in 2013.

Ultimateclassicrock.com reports that musicians Martina Arroyo, Herbie Hancock and Billy Joel were also honored at the gala, along with actress Shirley MacLaine.

The full broadcast also included a performance by killer female guitarist Orianthi, who resumes her tour with Alice Cooper in March.

Carlos was his usual humble self and exclaimed:

“I am in heaven. I’m in 7th heaven. I am so grateful. Thank you so much,” Santana said.
