O.K. just because I made that up doesn't mean he never said it.

He was born December 18, 1943, which makes him 69 years old today.

And he may be the poster boy for why drug abuse is a bad idea for your looks, but he can still rock with the best of them.

Rolling Stone magazine declares Richards has created "rock's greatest single body of riffs," ranking him 4th on its list of 100 best guitarists.

Fresh after the Stones' show at the Rock Saturday to wrap up the mini-tour for their 50th, Keith is saying at nme.com that the band have made no solid plans for next year yet, but that he would love for them to headline Glastonbury if they could.

And from keithrichards.com:

"Keith graces the cover of the NME's special Christmas double issue, on newsstands now. In the accompanying interview, conducted just after the Stones' 50th Anniversary dates at the O2, Keith discusses Christmases past, reuniting with Bill Wyman and Mick Taylor and his plans for 2013....

NME have also put together a video showing Keith through the years, which you can view on NME.com now."

Happy birthday to a rock legend!
