A Burlington County man accused of shooting a 22-year old Burlington Township man to death on East Federal Street in Burlington City in November of 2016 is found guilty by a jury in Superior Court Tuesday.

28-year old Darius Bridges of Beverly City remains jailed until his March 1 sentencing date.

Bridges was found guilty of Murder (First Degree), one count of Possession of a Weapon for an Unlawful Purpose (Second Degree) and one count of Certain Persons Not to Have Weapons (Second Degree).

Prosecutors in Burlington County say in the shooting Howard G. Young Jr. was hit in the back during a round of bullets flying in the 100 block of East Federal Street.

Young passed away a short time after being taken to Capital Health Regional Medical Center in Trenton.

An autopsy performed by Burlington County Medical Examiner Dr. Ian Hood determined the manner of death to be homicide due to being shot in the back.

The investigation was conducted by detectives from the City of Burlington Police Department and the Prosecutor's Office.
