A ceremony honoring the work Metallica frontman James Hetfieldhas done with children turned into a  very lucky time for some local kids of the bay area.   The kids got to rock out with Hetfield to Metallica's hit 'Enter Sandman' as part of the Little Kids Rock charity’s annual Rockin’ the Bay Benefit, which was held on Nov. 9. Past musicians who have been honored include Sammy Hagar and drummer Matt Sorum.

Little Kids Rock works to raise awareness and funds to revitalize music programs in school districts hit hardest by budget cuts. The program has funded music programming for more than 112,000 public school children in 12 states since its founding in 2002.
