Jackson Police pull over more than 100 vehicles on Friday and Saturday during a directed enforcement and drunk driving enforcement detail across the township.

With the 124 stops, there were 63 summonses issued for various violations including possession of marijuana, heroin, drug paraphernalia, DWI and a couple people with warrants out for their arrest.

"These details permit the assigned officers the time to seek out and address criminal activity and to respond to complaints received from residents about various areas as they are not responsible for answering routine calls for service, taking reports of incidents or responding to emergency calls," Jackson Police said on Facebook.

On Friday Jackson Police conducted a detail to address quality of life complaints that had been made in various areas of the township.

JPD officers were also assisted by the Ocean County Sheriff's Department K-9 officers.

The Friday detail resulted in 96 motor vehicle stops made with 45 summonses issued for various violations.

There were three people arrested for possession of marijuana, two people arrested for possession of heroin/drug paraphernalia, one person arrested for driving while intoxicated and two people were located and arrested for outstanding warrants for burglary and theft.

Jackson Police say these arrests also closed out several pending investigations that the detective bureau was investigating.

On Saturday Jackson Police partnered together with detectives from the Ocean County Prosecutor's Office for a drunk driving enforcement detail.

The Saturday evening detail resulted in 30 motor vehicle stops made with 18 summonses were issued for various violations.

There was one motor vehicle stop that resulted in an arrest for an outstanding warrant and one DWI arrest which also resulted in charges of resisting arrest and possession CDS.

Jackson Police say additional details are expected to be conducted in the future.
