When Jersey native James Gandolfini fell out after having a heart attack in 2013 in a hotel room in Rome, one of the paramedics who came to his aid allegedly stole the actor's $3,000 watch.

Claudio Bevilacqua went on trial Monday in Rome for allegedly stealing the Rolex watch off of the wrist of the actor.  The trial was adjourned until November.

NJ.com says,

Bevilacqua was one of several emergency workers who responded to the Boscolo Exedra Hotel when the former "Sopranos" star collapsed in the bathroom at around 10 p.m. on June 19, 2013. The 51-year-old was pronounced dead at a local hospital about an hour later.

Gandolfini was in Rome to accept an award and participate in the closing events of the Taromina Film Festival when he passed.
