Is Our Society Seduced by Sadism?

I'm not gonna ask you to take a poll about the tragedy at that movie theater we were all sickened to hear about this morning, but I'd like your thoughts on something I read this morning.

If you have a minute, please read the article someone shared on Facebook about the 2008 Batman film, "The Dark Knight" and the reviewer's dismay at the idea that children would be seeing such brutal and realistic depictions of violence.

I want to know what your thoughts are about it.

I realize the twisted soul who killed and wounded so many at the theater shooting in Colorado was a sociopath and I'm not saying violent films directly cause that behavior. Clearly these disturbed people are outside the realm of normal human beings.

But I think the article makes some excellent points and I'd love to hear your responses to it.

In the meantime, my thoughts and prayers go out to the victims and their friends and families in this horrific event.
