The Environmental Protection Agency is calling for limits on drinking water levels of two long-lasting contaminants linked to low birth weight, thyroid disorders, and cancer.

The chemicals, perfluorooctane sulfonate and perfluorooctanoic acid, are found in fire-fighting foam, non-stick pans, popcorn bags, and stain-free carpets. They found that 63 drinking water systems in 22 states have reported levels of these fluorinated compounds above the new recommended levels.

You can use this interactive map to search by county to see where water is contaminated and where it isn't. Green locations are affected by the chemicals, while white are thus far safe.

You can also search this PDF file to see which water systems are affected in each county.
