Attendees will receive up-to-date information about how to navigate the recovery process for their business, municipality, or home and how to be better prepared in the future.

Speakers include attorneys of the firm Scarinci Hollenbeck and environmental engineering experts of Princeton Hydro. Additionally, representatives of FEMA and Small Business Administration will be in attendance to answer questions.

“Many harsh realities and further questions are still emerging 6-7 weeks post-Sandy” said Helen Henderson, Policy Advocate for the American Littoral Society. “The intent of the forum is to connect private citizens, business owners and municipalities with recovery information sources as they continue to try and navigate their way through insurance claims, disaster programs and rebuilding considerations. Hopefully they can find answers or solutions that result in a positive outcome for them personally and also a more resilient and protected coastal environment”.

Tim Dillingham, Director of the American Littoral Society said that his organization has been leading the way in framing out policies that government must consider to better protect the environment and people in the future.

“We are working toward restoring and protecting the coast, and helping create more resilient communities” Dillingham said.   Future events will be planned with different focus areas in response to emerging issues of importance.
