It's been almost two weeks since the storm hit and there's been an amazing outpouring of support around the state.  The collection takes place at the Barnegat Recreation Center on West Bay Avenue.

Patrolman Brian Webber says items that are needed include batteries, flashlights, cleaning supplies, non prescription medications, non-perishable food items, personal hygiene products, diapers, extension cords, pet food, paper products and cutlery.

At this point, there has been several donation sites collecting clothing so that's not needed - but if you bring clothing, the items will still be accepted.

The event takes place from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m.

On Sunday, the items will be distributed to those in need by a group of volunteers.  For more information, call 609-698-5000.
