A fire at single-family home along Route 79 Marlboro briefly shuts down the road to traffic by Tennent Road and Harbor Road on Saturday morning.

The road, which was shut dow around 10:35 am, has since been re-opened.

Marlboro Police along with the Morganville Independent and Morganville Volunteer Fire Departments responded to the home at 466 State Route 79 located near Church Lane to address the scene and put out the fire respectively.

Responding officers discovered that smoke and active fire was coming from the single family residence which was determined to be unoccupied.

The fire is being investigated by the Marlboro Township Fire Prevention Bureau and Ptlm. Collin Murray and Det. Edward Ungrady of the Marlboro Township Police Department.

There were no injuries reported as a result of the fire.

At this time the cause of the fire is under investigation and is considered not to be suspicious in nature.

The Marlboro Fire Department, the Morganville Volunteer First Aid Squad, JCP&L and NJ Natural Gas were also on the scene.

No additional information is available at this time.
