You may hear more noise than normal from the Joint Base McGuire-Dix-Lakehurst today, and here's why.

Members of the G Company 2nd Battalion 25th Marines out of Picatinny Arsenal New Jersey are conducting day and night mortar firing at the joint base ranges.

Training began Friday and will continue today between 7 a.m. - 11 p.m.

The base warns some residents may hear more noise than usual coming from the ranges and may experience possible ground shaking.  The noise from the ranges may travel farther during overcast weather conditions.
