It's been a hot summer and with the heat, of course, come thunderstorms.

Some of us forget just how deadly those storms can be, but lightning is the #2 weather-related killer in the U.S.

It kills more people in this country than tornadoes or hurricanes on average, according to an article by the National Lightning Safety Institute.

A NASCAR fan was killed Sunday at Pocono Raceway when he was struck by lightning.
