Guns N' Roses performed a cover of Soundgarden's "Black Hole Sun" today during their concert in Slane, Ireland. You can see fan-shot footage of their tribute above.

Around the same time, the band also posted a tweet (below) dedicating the song to Chris Cornell, the Soundgarden singer who took his own life earlier this month. The weighty, Beatles-esque ballad from the band's 1994 masterful Superunknown quickly became Soundgarden's most popular song.

Guitarist Slash was among the first musicians to pay tribute to Cornell following his passing, declaring himself "shocked and saddened" by the news.

Cornell's funeral, which was held yesterday in Hollywood, drew a large contingent of his former bandmates and peers, including members of Metallica, Pearl Jam, Nirvana and the Eagles.

Guns N' Roses' Not in This Lifetime tour, which welcomes Slash and Duff McKagan back to the band's lineup, returns to North America for 31 dates spread out over two legs, beginning July 27 in St. Louis.
