Unfortunately that is what it seems after a meeting last night.

For years now, we all have been wondering what is going to happen to the area of the beach that once was the Funtown Pier Amusement Park on the South end of the Seaside Heights Boardwalk.

The owners of Funtown Pier have always insisted that they would build rides again, and make it bigger and better than before the boardwalk fire in 2013 that destroyed everything.

Last night at a planning meeting in Seaside Park, town officials rejected a plan to rebuild the amusement park.

Funtown Pier owners wants to build new thrill rides 300 feet high, but town officials said no to that, but agreed to let the rides go as high as 100 feet. Attorneys for Funtown Pier say having limitations on the site would not be worth it. They say:

"You can’t build a $10 million pier subject to a zoning board’s decision that every ride you put up will have that limit,” .

No word yet on what is coming. Read the full story here
