Congratulations to Carson E Morris Jr, our Warrior of the Week for the week of September 24th, 2018.

Unfortunately, this recognition comes posthumously. We received this nomination from Morris' sister, which we will present in its entirety:

My brother is not only my hero but he deserves to be an honorary Warrior because he is a hometown kid from Freehold who attended Freehold Borough High School and graduated in 1993. Shortly after graduating, Carson joined the U.S. Army and served for 17 years. During his 17-year tenure, he served as a mechanic with the Headquarters and Headquarters Company, 184th Ordnance Company in Darmstadt, Germany; as a recovery vehicle operator with the Headquarters and Headquarters Troop, 2/11th Armor Cavalry Regiment on Fort Irwin, Calif.; as a mechanic with the Headquarters and Headquarters Company, 158th Aviation in Giebelsdt, Germany; as a senior mechanic with the 44th Chemical Company on Fort Hood, Texas; as a training instructor with the Headquarters and Headquarters Company, 187th Ordnance Battalion on Fort Jackson, S.C.; as a battalion motor sergeant with the 41st Signal Detachment i n Camp Coiner, South Korea; maintenance support team non-commissioned officer in charge with the 503rd Maintenance Company on Fort Bragg and as the battalion intelligence non-commissioned officer in charge with the Headquarters and Headquarters Detachment, 7th Transportation Battalion on Fort Bragg.

His awards include the Meritorious Service Medal, the Global War on Terrorism Expeditionary Medal, the Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, the Army Commendation Medal, the Army Achievement Medal, the Army Good Conduct Medal, the National Defense Service Medal, the Korean Defense Service Medal, the Iraqi Campaign Medal, the Non-commissioned Officer Professional Development Ribbon, the Overseas Service Ribbon and the Army Service Ribbon.
