Despite Sacha Baron Cohen leaving the project, a planned movie tribute to Freddie Mercury is apparently still going to happen.

According to mirror.co.uk, Digital Spy reports that those in the know say the project "is very much alive", contrary to rumors that it was about to be shelved after Sacha Baron Cohen decided to walk away in July.

Apparently there were creative differences between Cohen and the surviving members of Queen.

Cohen reportedly wanted the movie to be a "gritty tell-all but the band wanted a more family-friendly version.

By the way, today would have been Freddie Mercury's 67th birthday.

He was born on September 5, 1946 in Zanzibar (now Tanzania) and died at age 45 on November 24, 1991.

Who do you think should play Freddie?
