Gene Simmons recently stated that rock is dead, but Foo Fighters says, whoa, there.

Gene said, “Rock did not die of old age. It was murdered. Some brilliance, somewhere, was going to be expressed and now it won’t because it’s that much harder to earn a living playing and writing songs. No one will pay you to do it.”

Foo Fighters simply tweeted: 'Not so fast, Mr. God of Thunder...'

The Foos are doing their bit to keep rock alive--their ‘Sonic Highways’ album arrives Nov. 10, with the HBO series preceding it on Oct. 17th.

And while we're on the subject of musicians' views on the music biz, Dave Grohl recently talked openly about his disdain for music competition shows on t.v., saying:

“I don’t want my kid to think that the only way you can be a musician is to stand in line at a song contest audition, and then wind up having a bazillionaire tell you you’re not a good singer. Don’t get me started. To me, that’s not what music’s about.”

I couldn't agree more, how about you?
