New Jersey is facing a mixed bag of wintry, wet and windy weather Wednesday.

A winter weather advisory is in effect from 10 p.m. until 4 a.m. Thursday for Sussex and Warren counties.

Forecasters say rain is expected to change to snow overnight and accumulations of 3 to 5 inches of snow are possible, especially in the higher elevations.

A flood watch is in effect for most of the day in central and northern New Jersey. Forecasters say as much as 3 inches of rain could lead to small stream flooding.

Meanwhile, southern New Jersey faces a blustery night that could threaten trees and power lines. A wind advisory is in effect for northwest winds with gusts to near 50 mph.
