The National Weather Service issued a warning about flash floods throughout almost all of New Jersey.

Showers and thunderstorms are expected from Thursday evening through Friday evening. Some of the storms could include torrential downpours which result in localized flash flooding.

The NWS lists affected areas as:

Atlantic ... Atlantic Coastal Cape May ... Camden ... Cape May ... Coastal Ocean ... Cumberland ... Eastern Monmouth ... Gloucester ... Hunterdon ... Mercer ... Middlesex ... Northwestern Burlington ... Ocean ... Salem ... Somerset ... Southeastern Burlington ... Western Monmouth

A "flash flood watch" means conditions may develop that lead to flash flooding. You should be prepared to take action if a "flash flood warning" is issued.
