First Responders are amazing men and women, and I have the utmost respect for those who risk their own lives to save others.

One New Jersey policeman recently risked his life to save animals in a pet shop.

His name is Rafael Burgos and he is an example of the best in human beings.

A fire broke out at Pet Center on State Highway 23 in Franklin, N.J. on Tuesday morning but all the pets are now safe, thanks to Burgos.

According to nbcconnecticut.com:

Burgos rescued all the pets inside the building as other officers evacuated nearby businesses, police said.

The brave officer received medical care for smoke inhalation, and here's wishing him all the best in his recovery.
