He was the lead guitarist and vocalist for Ten Years After and he passed away in Spain yesterday at the age of 68.

According to his website, he died from "unforeseen complications following a routine surgical procedure."

Billboard Magazine wrote of his death, noting the landmark performances of "I'm Going Home" from the Woodstock festival and his 1971 hit single "I'd Love to Change the World."
