First, a happy birthday to Sammy Hagar, who was born on October 13, 1947 in Salinas, California.

Sammy's been performing an acoustic version of the Van Halen song, 'Dreams' in concert, but this is off the new album.

According to ultimateclassicrock.com:

Ultimate Classic Rock is pleased to present the exclusive premiere of a new acoustic version of the classic Van Halen song ‘Dreams,’ from Sammy Hagar’s new album ‘Lite Roast,’ which can be purchased from iTunes.

Sammy's well aware that you have to be careful when you alter classic tunes, saying fans get pissy when you fool around with songs they love, but he's confident he got it right.

I think what I’ve done with that song, it’s a better song this way. The lyric has more meaning, you get it and it touches your heart closer and better....when I stripped it down, I finally sing it now, like the way I wrote those lyrics, I know what I’m talking about now. I think the fans, it touches them — people cry and sh-t when I sing this acoustically. So this song works.”
