Donnie Van Zant at 61: Health Troubles Continue to Keep Him off the Road

Despite the health problems he's experiencing, here's wishing a happy birthday to the guy everyone's pointing to, Donnie Van Zant, who was born on June 11, 1952 in Jacksonville, Florida.

He's been dealing with health issues that have kept him off the tour schedule with his band, 38 Special, since 2012 now, but he does continue to write and record with them.

In March of this year, at 38special.com, it was announced that due to health issues related to inner-ear nerve damage, Donnie would not be joining the band "in the foreseeable future."

Let's hope he recovers soon and can return to his rightful place on stage with the band!
