Chris Christie vetoed any bill that involved legal marijuana, but newly-elected Governor Phil Murphy is prepared to make NJ the latest state to legalize recreational pot.

Even if Murphy fast-tracked a bill within his first 100 Days, it would still take several months to establish regulations, approve licensed sellers, and grow the product.

The New Jersey CannaBusiness Association is hoping to have the state's marijuana infrastructure up and running by 2019.

While that process is taking place, groups like the Coalition for Medical Marijuana in New Jersey are looking for the state to start by immediately decriminalizing weed, putting an end to arrests for possession, use, and distribution.
