It's the power of threes.

Deal Police as well as firefighters from Allenhurst and Asbury Park helped rescue a man who was in distress in Deal Lake on Friday afternoon, DPD said in a statement.

Sgt. Brian Egan responded to the area of Edgemont Drive and Norwood Ave around 3:32 pm for a subject in distress in Deal Lake.

He found a 66-year-old man there hanging from the bulkhead with his left leg trapped.

Allenhurst Fire Department and Asbury Park Fire Department were called in to assist Sgt. Egan.

Backup from Deal Police came as well with Lt. Matt Sharin who entered the lake to support the victims head while Asbury Park Firefighters put ladders and other equipment into the water to help the man to safety.

He was then brought to Jersey Shore Medical Center for an evaluation.

Deal Police said there were no injuries to any responders.
