To celebrate American Heart Month, Community Medical Center will host its annual Dancing for Heart Health on Saturday, February 4th from 10am to 2pm at the Ocean County Mall.

The event is free for anyone to attend. Local dance groups will perform throughout the day, including Four Community Line Dancers, Devrin Irish Dance Academy, Broadway Bound Dance Center, East Side Dance Company, Avenue to Broadway, Creative Cardio, N-Step, and the Renaissance Ceili Group.

People can stop by throughout the day and learn basic steps to take to achieve optimal heart health. Free blood pressure, blood sugar and body mass index screenings will be offered.

Heart disease and stroke are the number one killers of American adults, claiming more lives than all forms of cancer. Since 1963, the United States Congress has proclaimed February “American Heart Month” to educate the public on the dangers of heart disease and the importance of a heart-healthy lifestyle.
