CVS to Stop The Sale of Cigarettes In Their Stores

CVS Pharmacy announced earlier today that they would stop selling cigarettes and other tobacco products by October 1, 2014 in all of their 7,600+ stores in the United States.

In a statement from CVS President/CEO Larry J Merlo states:

Ending the sale of cigarettes and tobacco products at CVS/pharmacy is the right thing for us to do for our customers and our company to help people on their path to better health.  Put simply, the sale of tobacco products is inconsistent with our purpose.”
