Clock Runs Out This Week on FEMA Housing Assistance
Time’s up this week for approximately 700 New Jersey families receiving federal housing assistance.
In a report by the Star Ledger, the funding, issued by the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) will end for these families by Thursday. Approximately 600 New York families are also slated to lose their funding as the provision caps out at $31,900.
Families staying in temporary housing at the former Fort Monmouth mwilitary base and those staying in manufactured homes have until the end of August.
The U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) and the state of New Jersey is said to be working with the families to find long term housing solutions.
