Earlier this year we found out that Chris Christie's official portrait would be painted by Australian artist Paul Newton; we also found out that Christie's portrait would cost taxpayers $85,000, more than the cominbed $74,500 spent by NJ's previous three governors: Jon Corzine, Richard Codey and Jim McGreevey.

NJ.com shared the unveiling on Facebook:

So far I haven't found any larger, full-resolution pics, but I'll be sure to update things if I do.

I will say, good choice by the artist to have Christie's considerable circumference mostly obscured by that desk or podium or whatever. I know it's a tired joke at this point, but how glorious would it have been to drop the curtain and reveal a beautifully painted depiction of Chris Christie in a beach chair?
