Think you're the Pope of Chili-town? If you're a member of a fire department, the Pleasant Plains Volunteer Fire Department is inviting you to compete in its annual Firefighter Chili Cook-Off.

The competition, the departments biggest fundraiser of the year, happens Saturday, March 25th at the fire department on Clayton Avenue in Toms River. Tasting and voting runs from 2pm to 5pm.

The winning firefighter gets $100, a trophy and mostly importantly, bragging rights. Second place gets $75 and third gets $50. There is no entry fee to compete.

For non-cooks who want to taste and vote, the entry fee is $7.  Admission includes a tasting cup and spoon, two voting tickets and two drink tickets (soda, water, & beer).
