Chris Huch is a local surfer who didn't let the frigid temperatures keep him out of the Atlantic, off the coast of Harvey Cedars.

The combination of cold water and cold air created a unique phenomenon known as "slurpee shorebreak", where the water close to shore turns into an icy, mushy consistency. Huch had his GoPro recording and shared some awesome video!

The beginning of that video is so surreal, with the waves appearing to be frozen at the shoreline. Thankfully there are people like Chris out there, because there is no way I'd be jumping into water like that to get footage.
