Charlie Manuel Fired As Phillies Manager – Report

Charlie Manual has been fired as manager of the Philadelphia Phillies according to several reports.

CBS Sports and Comcast Sports Network Philadelphia both report that the team will announce the move at a 2:30 p.m. press conference. CSN reports that Ryne Sandburg will be named manager.

The Phillies, with a 53-67 record, are in their second disappointing season in a row, Manual is the winningest manager in Phillies history with a 780-636 record which includes a 2011 season with a record 102 wins.
