A Central Regional High School student was brought to Community Medical Center this morning after the school bus he was riding on was struck by a Seaside Heights Garbage Truck near Grant Avenue and the Boulevard around 7:55 am, according to Seaside Heights Police Detective Steve Korman.

The school bus was struck on the rear passenger side bumper area while it was sitting at a red light at the intersection, heading northbound on the Boulevard, Korman said.

There was a driver and 14 students on board in total.

Triboro First Aid Squad transported one male 13-year-old student to Community Medical Center due to a complaint of minor injury.

The accident is being investigated by Patrolman Shane Henderson and is at this time still under investigation.

There are a group of students who live in Seaside Heights and Park who commute on the bus to the Central Regional Schools they are in as part of the district set-up across the bridge in Berkeley Township.
