On Friday, March 22, 2013, the Brick Township Policemen’s Benevolent Association will be holding its twenty-third annual “Helping Hands Benefit Basketball Game”. The game will feature members of the Brick Township Police Department playing the Brick Township Green Dragon Football Team. As in the past, the P.B.A. is hosting the game to assist a local family facing financial hardship due to a child’s serious illness. This year, the proceeds of the game will go to the family of Mikaela Magner (Baby Beans), to help them care for their daughter. Mikaela, 5 years old, has Lennox-Gastaut Syndrome, which is a rare and severe form of childhood-onset epilepsy. On any given day, Mikaela can have from 50 to 100 seizures.
Eric Katz, a 30-year-old paraplegic, Toms River, NJ native, who has devoted his life to building and creating artificial limbs for amputees, lost his home and everything he owned during Hurricane Sandy.
Kiss legend and original drummer Peter Criss will be honored this Saturday night, March 9th from the American Cancer Society's Jersey Shore Region Hope Lounge annual event at the Encore Event Center in Freehold, NJ
Peter Criss is a breast cancer survivor, and has been extremely active over the last few years on getting the word out that men as well as women are can be diagnosed with breast cancer.
It happens this Saturday, March 9th at The People's Pantry, 1001 Fischer Boulevard from 10:00 am to 3:00 pm.
On Saturday March 2nd, a benefit will be happening at the Beachcomber in Seaside Heights for the East Dover Firehouse on Fischer Boulevard in Toms River.
The firehouse sustained about $50,000 worth of damage from the 4 feet of water that engulfed Fischer Blvd and the firehouse from Hurricane Sandy.
On Wednesday February 27th, Klee's Bar & Grill in Seaside Heights will be hosting a beer and wine sampling benefit for Hometown Heroes and Restore the Shore from 6p-10p.
And it's as easy as showing up today, Tuesday, February 5th for National Pancake Day at IHOP where free pancakes are back in support of CMN Hospitals!
