Ocean of Love Billboard Radiothon – Day 1 Recap
There may have been a little rain today, but the only downpour was donations on this great first day at Billboard Radiothon 2012!
There may have been a little rain today, but the only downpour was donations on this great first day at Billboard Radiothon 2012!
It's 10:30p on Monday night, and Day 1 of the radiothon is slowly coming to a close. (I never really know if this is actually considered Day 1 because we started at 5pm).
Check out video of The Hawk's Andy Chase in a Toms River Fire Department ladder truck, getting a lift up to his billboard.
What started on Monday, October 15 at 5 p.m. and will end Friday, October 19 at 7 p.m., Andy Chase is living on a billboard above the Target parking lot on Hooper Avenue in Toms River to raise money for Ocean of Love, a local organization dedicated to supporting families in the fight against pediatric cancer.
Next week is the Ocean of Love Bill Board Radiothon, and every year I always try to add a little "something" to the ambiance of my living situation.
The Ocean of Love "Billboard Radiothon" is exactly a week away, and I am asking for your help in helping Ocean County families whose children have cancer.
Please read this letter that I wrote explaining what the radiothon is all about, and why it is so important to make a donation to Ocean of Love.
Once again the 105.7 The Hawk's Ocean of Love "Billboard Radiothon" will be taking place in the Target shopping Center on Hooper Ave in Toms River Monday October 15th-Friday October 19th.
Charity is a wonderful thing. Giving back to those in need is something we all should strive for in our daily lives. Spending time on and off the air at the 105.7 The Hawk Billboard radiothon has given Just a Bit Outside a chance for a second consecutive year to help raise money for families in Ocean County that have been afflicted with cancer. Sometimes charity is dressing up like Kermit the Frog. Sometimes it's wearing a ladies dress. Unfortunately for our ego's, Thursday night is the latter.
Just a Bit Outside prides itself on many things. Great radio. Good looks. Knowledge about everything from sports, to life skills, to holding court with the ladies. Somewhere on that list includes consistency. Every week includes a Top 5 Tuesday topic. Of course, this week revolved around ways to make money for Ocean of Love and help reach our station goal of $105,700 by Friday afternoon. Without further ado, the Top 5 things I will do for big money donations:
