A Burlington Township man who allegedly stabbed a man he lived with to death in October is indicted on murder and weapons charges.

34-year old William Hines Jr. will soon be arraigned in Superior Court in Mount Holly on charges he allegedly murdered 54-year old Scott Willis in their Chateau Apartment bathroom.

The October 29 incident took place around 10:00 am at the Chateau Apartments on Sunset Road.

Willis was found by police on the bathroom floor suffering from multiple stab wounds and lacerations to his face, upper chest, hands and arms.

Hines Jr. who fled before police arrived was arrested the next day.

Treatment was administered to Willis at the scene before he was brought to Cooper University Hospital in Camden where he passed a few days later.

Hines Jr. was indicted on one count each of Murder (First Degree), Possession of a Weapon for an Unlawful Purpose (Third Degree) and Unlawful Possession of a Weapon (Fourth Degree).

The case is being prosecuted by Assistant Prosecutor Bob VanGilst, supervisor of the BCPO Major Crimes Unit.

The investigation was conducted by the BCPO Major Crimes Unit and Crime Scene Unit, along with the Burlington Township Police Department.

The lead investigators were BCPO Detective Michael Reagan and Burlington Township Detective Michael Casella.

An indictment is merely an accusation. Defendants are presumed innocent unless or until proven guilty.
