Burlington-based serviceman faces child porn charges

A U.S. Air Force sergeant assigned to Joint Base McGuire-Dix-Lakehurst and living in Burlington City is accused of downloading child pornography at home and using file share software to open access to others.

Master Sergeant Gerard Cameron faces charges of child pornography possession and distribution, and three counts of endangering the welfare of children, acccording to information from the office of Burlington County Prosecutor Robert Bernardi.

Investigators seized several digital devices after searching Cameron's home and placing him under arrest Tuesday, authorities said.

Cameron was retained in the Burlington County Jail with bail set at a full $100,000. He is forbidden from accessing the Internet, and from having contact with minors, if he posts bail, authorities said.

His case will be forwarded to a grand jury.
