The highlight of this weekends events was a performance by Bruce Springsteen on Saturday night at Asbury Park’s Paramount Theatre.  Backed by Joe Gruschecky and the Houserockers, Bruce took the stage around midnight and rocked the place for over 2 hours.  Bruce performed memorable versions of “Darkness On The Edge Of Town”, “The Promised Land”, “Thunder Road” and had some fun with “Twist & Sout”. Toward the end of the show Max Weinberg suprised and delighted all by taking over on drums.

Tom Cunningham host of “Bruce Brunch” on  NJ101.5′s sister station Townsquare Media’s 105.7  The Hawk reported on his Facebook page;

Last night’s show at the Paramount Theater in Asbury Park was surely a Light Of Day high bar! Wow. Can’t think of a time that I’ve ever seen Bruce Springsteen more animated.

Springsteen’s as yet untitled new album is speculated to be coming out in March and is reported to have an “angry” feel.  The album is being supported by a worldwide tour with European dates already set.
