Backstreets, the web's ultimate Bruce database, revealed that Springsteen played a secret acoustic set at the White House for about 250 Obama staffers on January 12th.

The 15-song set took place in the White House's East Room, the same room where Springsteen was recently awarded the Presidential Medal of Freedom.

The recap on Backstreets is incredibly in-depth, revealing each song and what Springsteen spoke about. The set list leaned towards the more political tunes, and Springsteen frequently discussed politics and Obama's impact between each song.

Before playing "Born in the U.S.A.," Springsteen referred to it as a "protest song" and that the song had been misinterpreted in the past, and it would be misinterpreted again. Springsteen also dedicated "Tougher Than the Rest," which also featured Patti Scialfa, to the Obamas for all they endured during their time in the White House.

Following the concert, Obama thanked Springsteen. "He's been with us for some time now, performing his craft to show his support," the president told his staff.
