Bruce Springsteen Grants a Little Boy’s Wish

Bruce Springsteen may not be a genie, but that doesn’t mean he can’t make wishes come true.

Five-year-old Carter Bernhard of Mansfield, Mass., who has a disabling form of Spina Bifida, has spent the past few years pining to meet The Boss. It’s a rather odd obsession for such a young boy, but in between charming the staffers at Children’s Hospital in Boston, he’s expressed how much he wants to have a one-on-one with the New Jersey rocker.

As Carter’s dad, Scott, said:

“He wakes up every day and says, ‘Dad when I leave the hospital there’s something I want to do.’ I always think he’s going to say ‘go for ice cream,’ but he says ‘I want to meet The Boss.’”

Now, with a little help from the Make-A-Wish Foundation, he’s about to get the chance. Bruce and the youngster will finally come face-to-face in Boston on March 26 while Springsteen is in town for a concert.

Carter’s mom Chrissy says her son wants to “eat bananas and pancakes with him,” and while we’re not sure what — if anything — will be the menu during their meeting, we’re sure the little boy won’t be left with a hungry heart.

See what we did there? (Hey, stop throwing those rotten tomatoes.)

While it’s not surprising Springsteen would take time out to meet such a devoted fan, he’s been incredibly busy of late — his recent schedule has included the release of his new album, ‘Wrecking Ball’ (if you don’t have a copy yet, get it here), Friday night’s fundraiser at the Apollo Theater, and last week’s appearances on ‘Late Night with Jimmy Fallon.’
