A Brick Township student has been named the winner from the Third Congressional District in the annual Congressional Art Competition.

Simon Beier's painting of a blue heron was chosen from the entries received across the district, and will be displayed in the U.S. Capitol for a year.

Representative Tom MacArthur said,

Congratulations to Simon Beier for winning this year's Congressional Art Competition in New Jersey’s Third Congressional District. This year’s Congressional Art Competition was a wonderful showcase of the talent and creativity in South Jersey. Every participant should be proud of their work. And as members of Congress and visitors walk to the Capitol in DC, Simon’s work will surely be the best one showcased."
