An Ocean County pair are facing a number of charges after Lakehurst Police found them in possession of 14-wax folds of heroin, four-crack pipes, several hypodermic syringes and drug paraphernalia at a motel.

Charles D. Novellano, 43, of Brick and Allyson M. Frunzi, 49, of Toms River were both charged after an active criminal warrant was executed at an undisclosed motel in Lakehurst on Thursday June 12, around 11:41 pm.

It was around that timeframe that Officer Robert Schroeck observed a vehicle parked at this motel that belonged to Novellano, he knew to have an active criminal warrant from the Middlesex County Sheriff's Department.

Novellano was also a person of interest in a previous incident that had occurred at the motel.

Officer Schroeck then attempted to the make contact with Novellano at the room he was previously staying in but Frunzi answered the door.

Police say Novellano had run into the bathroom and was trying to hide, when he was found out police were there.

Officer Schroeck and Sergeant Iain James were later able to take Novellano into custody without incident.

An on scene investigation led to a search of his vehicle and the motel room.

That search turned up fourteen 14 wax folds containing Heroin, four crack pipes, multiple hypodermic syringes and other drug paraphernalia.

Novellano and Frunzi were arrested and transported to Lakehurst Police Headquarters for processing.

Frunzi was charged with Possession of Heroin, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia and Being Under the Influence of a Controlled Dangerous Substance.

She was issued a summons for the charges and released pending a mandatory court appearance with the Ocean County Superior Court.

Novellano was charged with Possession of Heroin, Tampering with Physical Evidence, Possession of a Hypodermic Needle and two counts of Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.

He was issued a warrant for the charges and transported to the Ocean County Jail where he was lodged pending a mandatory court appearance with the Ocean County Superior Court.

Officer Schroeck was assisted by Sergeant Iain James, Officer William Bowers and Officer Madelyn Waltz.

The public is reminded that all criminal charges are merely accusations and all subjects are innocent until proven guilty.
