Breaking News: Neil Young NOT Dead

At 3pm on Saturday, NBC News ran the headline "Astronaut Neil Young, first man to walk on moon, dies at age 82," which was tweeted out and picked up by thousands of others before it was changed.

Needless to say, it was a mistake made while trying to report on the loss of another American icon, Neil Armstrong.

NBC updated its story and added an editor’s note acknowledging the error in the initial headline.
