Last week, I posted a blog saying that the Eastbound bridge (draw-bridge) to Seaside Heights would be open soon for the Summer of 2016 after the Winter-long construction that has been going on to replace the bridge deck.

Well good news...The bridge is now open!!!

All Winter, there has only been one bridge open (Westbound bridge) for drivers to get to and from Seaside Heights from Toms River, which caused some headaches during busy weekends such as the Polar Bear Plunge and during the St. Patrick's Day Parade in Seaside Heights.

But this past Sunday, the construction came to a halt, and officials opened the bridge for the Summer.

What a great gift for mom for Mother's Day!!

The bridge will be closing again September 14th for phase two of construction. The entire project is supposed to take three years and be completed in May of 2018.
